How to Unload a Truck Without a Loading Dock | Finding the Right Ramp
Determine the right ramp for all loading/unloading needs. To get started, keep these few questions in mind:
Are you in need of a permanent loading area or do you want a portable loading ramp?
What is the maximum weight that lift-trucks will be transporting (including the weight of the truck)?
Do you need dock-to-ground access or ground-level access to trucks, containers, etc.?
If the answers to the above questions aren’t clear or likely to change, consider a rental or used yard ramp. Factory-certified used ramps come with a guarantee too!
Mobile Yard Ramp Applications
Yard ramps are an ideal solution. Portable loading dock ramp solves two common problems. One, loading shipments that need to go from ground level to a truck. Two, unloading shipments from a truck to the ground.
Copperloy yard ramps are available in a steel or aluminum base. Additionally, rental ramps are convenient and great for short-term projects!
Ground-to-Truck Portable Ramps
For easy ground level access to semi-trucks, consider the ground-to-truck ramp. Designed for industrial use, Copperloy ramps increase productivity and provide maximum safety. Simplify day-to-day loading tasks with Copperloy.
Heavy Duty Portable Loading Docks
Portable loading docks are designed specifically for facilities without a permanent loading dock. Pair a portable loading dock with a Copperloy dock-to-ground or yard ramp for a cost-effective, parallel loading solution. Durable steel construction handles capacities up to 60,000 lbs. A unique design enables lift trucks to make 90-degree turns efficiently. Multiple portable loading docks can be connected to create a larger loading dock platform.
Key Features | Heavy Truck Ramps
Get the best mobile solution for ground level access to a truck when a loading dock isn’t available. Conveniently create a loading facility with Copperloy’s diverse selection of mobile ramps and loading platforms. Copperloy enables fast turn-around by keeping different ramp models in stock. Engineered for high-performance and enhanced safety, Copperloy ramps can handle up to 35,000 lbs. Discover key features of the industry-leading ramps below!
8′ Level Off
Ramps include an 8-foot level off feature for excelled stability and easy forklift access to trucks.
To assure the ramp doesn’t pull from the truck, a 15-inch lip rests on the platform. Additionally, mobile ramps have safety chains for extra assurance.
Effortlessly lift the ramp using our single-acting hydraulic hand pump. For ease of use and maintenance, the pump is in a new location that also shields against dirt, debris, and damage.
Low End Plate & Deck Grating
A low end plate allows front driving tires to reach high-traction deck grating while the rear tires maintain contact with the ground. Built for durability and demanding applications, Copperloy ramps feature grating bars. Plus, grating bars are spaced 1-3/4″ apart to allow snow, rain, and debris to fall through. Lastly, the high-strength steel grating is serrated to ensure a high-traction surface in all types of weather.
Positioning Sleeve for Heavy Equipment Loading Ramps
Maneuver the ramp 180 degrees with minimal effort using the positioning sleeve feature. In turn, increase productivity with decreased loading and unloading time. Just slide a fork of the forklift into the sleeve and arrange into preferred placement!
An add-on feature for steel and aluminum ramps, the towbar connects to the lower end of the ramp. Conveniently transport ramps short distances within a facility.
18″ Pneumatic Tires
Rugged terrain is no match for solid filled, 18-inch pneumatic tires. Avoid common issues such as punctures and air leaks with solid-filled tires. Lubricated-for-life bearings and no air required to fill, pneumatic tires are maintenance free!
At Copperloy, safety is a foremost priority. To prevent an accidental runoff, 7-inch safety curbs are a standard feature on all Copperloy ramps.
Smooth Side Plates
Flat side plates safely enclose all working components. Additionally, protect against possible damage caused by other equipment.
What are the height ranges of the ramps?
The standard height range of the mobile yard ramp is 38″-65″. For dock-to-ground ramps, 38″-60″ is the standard height range. Copperloy can customize any ramp to unique height requirements.
How are the ramps secured?
All ramps are shipped with safety chains to secure them. Mobile yards ramps are chained to the trailers — Bolts secure dock to ground ramps to the face of the dock along with brackets and chains.
Do you have rental ramps?
Yes. Copperloy has a variety of factory-certified ramps for rent and available for short-term loading dock solutions. Factory certified ramps ensure that all components are in working order and operationally sound. Using factory-certified dock ramp rental improves efficiency and production.
