People often ask what the difference is between a dock plate and a dock board. It’s actually pretty simple. A dock plate is a mostly flat piece of metal (there is a bend in it, you can see it in picture) that bridges the gap from one area to another. A dock board has sides, or curbs, that can help prevent run off. Both dock boards and dock plates come in aluminum and steel options. This is for durability and intent. Steel is much stronger so you can do things like drive a forklift over it. Aluminum though is much lighter and can be moved easier.

Our steel dockboards with welded steel curbs come in widths of 60, 72 or 84 inches, and capacities of 15,000 or 20,000 lbs. Lengths range from 36 to 96 inches, and height differentials range from 5 to 16 inches.

Aluminum loading dock boards with welded aluminum curbs have 10,000, 12,000, or 15,000 lb capacities. Widths can be 54, 60, 72 or 84 inches, with lengths ranging from 30 up to 84 inches, and height differentials ranging from 4 to 10.5 inches.

Aluminum loading dock board models with bolt-on steel curbs have 10,000 or 15,000 lb capacities, width of 54, 60, 66 or 72 inches, lengths from 26 to 60 inches, and height differentials from 5 to 10.5 inches.
